Movie info: The Kims - mother and father Chung-sook and Ki-taek, and their young adult offspring, son Ki-woo and daughter Ki-jung - are a poor family living in a shabby and cramped half basement apartment in a busy lower working class commercial district of Seoul. Without even knowing it, they, especially Mr. and Mrs. Kim, literally smell of poverty. Often as a collective, they perpetrate minor scams to get by, and even when they have jobs, they do the minimum work required. Ki-woo is the one who has dreams of getting out of poverty by one day going to university. Despite not having that university education, Ki-woo is chosen by his university student friend Min, who is leaving to go to school, to take over his tutoring job to Park Da-hye, who Min plans to date once he returns to Seoul and she herself is in university. The Parks are a wealthy family who for four years have lived in their modernistic house designed by and the former residence of famed architect Namgoong. While Mr. and Mrs. Park are all about status, Mrs. Park has a flighty, simpleminded mentality and temperament, which Min tells Ki-woo to feel comfortable in lying to her about his education to get the job. In getting the job, Ki-woo further learns that Mrs. Park is looking for an art therapist for the Parks' adolescent son, Da-song, Ki-woo quickly recommending his professional art therapist friend "Jessica", really Ki-jung who he knows can pull off the scam in being the easiest liar of the four Kims. In Ki-woo also falling for Da-hye, he begins to envision himself in that house, and thus the Kims as a collective start a plan for all the Kims, like Ki-jung using assumed names, to replace existing servants in the Parks' employ in orchestrating reasons for them to be fired. The most difficult to get rid of may be Moon-gwang, the Parks' housekeeper who literally came with the house - she Namgoong's housekeeper when he lived there - and thus knows all the little nooks and crannies of it better than the Parks themselves. The question then becomes how far the Kims can take this scam in their quest to become their version of the Parks

Soooo the best foreign movie I have ever watched in my 32 years of living is a movie called Incendies. I just rented Parasite and based off of the comments. it may replace my current #1 foreign be a very close 2nd. I can't get home fast enough to watch it.

I watched twice. the first time i was so into the movie story line so couldnt think of anything else except the catching the storytelling. the second time when I watched, i saw behind the scenes like hidden things in the movie and the music was gorgeous, camera angles and the cinema graphics were so stunning. Congratulations for winning best picture, best director, best Foriegn language film, best original screenplay in the 92nd academy awards👏👏.

Smooth, natural, high tension. It changes tones completely at least 4 times, and every bit of cinematography in this movie is perfect. The music, subtle enough in scenes and whimsical, makes the entire scene turns sour when just that subtle violin or another abrasive string plays quietly, a single instrument shifts the scenes color completely. No loose ends in this movie, and every person here feels like a real and genuine human you might find on shameless, or at times it felt like Veep or Parks and rec with how characters talk to each other, very down to earth and relatable. This movie is beyond engaging, delivering funny lines perfectly, while other times perfectly capturing the moment of horror and fear. This movie is a must watch, it's hard not to appreciate the work and ideas put into this film after viewing it. 11/10 Recommend.

This movie is a MASTERPIECE! 10/10 would recommend. its amazing, i was shook for a whole 10 minutes after i finished, it was insane. i want to relive the experience all over again. Gisaengchung. Actually Americans are already late on recorgnizing their FILMs and me Korean Movies and Korean dramas are one of the Best movies Ive seen.(Old Boy, Parasite, The Man from Nowhere, The Host, Train to Busan, Miracle in Cell No. 7,The Masquerade) No wonder many people around the world are addicted in Korean dramas and movies, because their plot are so unpredictable and very unique.

This film is a masterpiece, a cinematic slap. Parasite is cinematic perfection. It's not just my favourite film of the year, it's in my top 10 of my best movies of the last decade. Just when you think you know what type of movie it is, it suddenly becomes a completely different movie when you least expect it. Crazy, funny, incredibly smart, mixing genres! I loved it. I've tried to keep my review to a minimum because the less said about this movie the better, everyone needs to see this movie.
